Redbridge Council to use CCTV to tackle fly-tippers
Fly-tipping in London is at epidemic levels, and Redbridge Council is using CCTV to clean up streets and catch those responsible.
CCTV cameras worth £30,000 are part of proposals to clean up streets put forward by the Environmental Service Committee – Cllr Patel commented: “We tested the Big Clean Up concept in 2010 and 2011. By bringing together a team of cleansing, streetscene and enforcement staff and focusing on areas with particular problems, we can make a real difference to the local environment”
The committee will meet on December 4th to discuss the proposals, with a decision to be made on the 10th.
